Funky and vivid, sometimes bold, sometimes gentle illustrations by Wiktoria Mańkowska — prints, tie-dyed tote bags, shirts and vintage jackets and more. Inspired by esoteric symbolism, female and solar energy, mythology and stories about ancient aliens but also everyday life situations. One of Wiktoria’s favourite motifs are mandalas. She works in the areas of illustration, painting, sculpture and graphic design.
The whole process of creating products — drawing illustrations, doing tie-dyes, sewing — is done by Wiktoria Mańkowska. All works are made with love and care, produced in limited editions, using ecological, sustainable materials and methods.
Each illustration begins with analog drawing that is digitally transformed after — colours are added and composition is made. Printed with a pigment method on high quality papers (some of them with corn) which gives beautiful colour depth. All artworks are hand-signed.
Original illustrations are transferred on fabric in few techniques — screen printing method or digital print on fabrics — satin and velvet. They are placed on hand tie-dyed cotton tote bags and shirts (B&C organic cotton and Fruit of the loom) and vintage jackets found in thrift stores. Each product is handmade so it's unique, there are differences between individual pieces. :-)
Wiktoria Mańkowska, born 1995. Artist originally coming from Poland, living in Slovenia since 2022. She works in the areas of illustration, painting, sculpture and graphic design. She likes travelling with a backpack, etno music and dancing with a hoop. Her favourite colours are gold and purple. She likes collective work because she believes that 1+1=3.
In 2022 she earned an MFA at Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, Faculty of Graphic Arts, Specialisations Magazine Design, Traditional Printmaking Techniques and Painting.
Her master thesis project is a reportage about living in an off-grid community in North Portugal, in the form of a nearly two hundred pages book containing of photos and interviews that she made while spending lockdown there.
